IMPORTANT UPDATE:
We have an important notice to share regarding our fee structure at Little Tree Psychology. We received notice from the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta that the provincial fee recommendations for psychologists are increasing by $20/hour in 2023. After careful consideration, we have decided that it is within the best interest of Little Tree Psychology to maintain consistency among other practicing professionals and with the recommendations of the PAA. Therefore, we will continue to comply with the fee schedule suggested by PAA and the standard fee will increase to $220 starting February 1, 2023.
We understand that finances can often be a barrier to seeking mental health support, so we will continue to offer a reduced rate on a case by case basis for those without health benefits.
Additionally, you may visit the PAA Recommended Fee Schedule for more information.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you so much for your understanding.
Warmly,
Little Tree Psychology

“Life is tough” - reading that phrase might really resonate with you, but it might also seem like the understatement of the year because in fact, life feels impossible and unbearable. Or maybe, you feel that the word “tough” is too strong and life is actually going ok, but there are some rough spots you could use help with. No matter where you are in life, what’s happening, or how challenging you may find it, you deserve to be supported through it and reaching out is a great step. Remember, you are never “too broken” to be helped and your problems are never “too small” to be worth asking for help.
I work from a person-centered approach, believing that you are the expert on your life. Some approaches that I often draw from include humanistic theories, EMDR, CBT, attachment-based approaches, strength-based, solution-focused, and play therapy (yes, even adults can play if they want!). Together, we will develop a plan based on your goals for therapy and how you want to get there. From there, we will find what works best for you and adjust our plan and goals accordingly, and nothing is ever set in stone. My ultimate goal is to create a safe place for you to be your authentic self, no matter who that might be.
I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and walks of life, including children (0-11), youth (12-17), adults (18+), and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. With a background in teaching, I have additional experience working with children and youth from preschool to grade 12 and do my best to keep up with the ever-changing trends and lingo in their world. I also plan on soon being able to offer psychoeducational assessments, so stay tuned! I look forward to learning more about you, so feel free to reach out to see if I’m the right fit for you.

Canadian Certified Counsellor
My name is Kelcey, and I am excited to be joining the team at Little Tree. While my career began as a teacher, I have been working with children and teens for most of my life. From babysitting to being a camp counsellor to teaching and then to school counselling, I have had the privilege of connecting with many young people. The obstacles you may face and the emotions you deal with as a young person today are complicated and can feel overwhelming – you don’t need to face them alone. Having worked in high schools for the past eight years, I specialize in supporting teens (13-19) with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and challenging family or home situations. I have extensive experience working cross-culturally and with clients of all gender identities and sexual orientations. I am tremendously grateful every time someone invites me to be a part of their story, and I am looking forward to building more relationships at Little Tree.
My approach to counselling is deeply humanistic and person-centred. I believe in the transformational power of a strong therapeutic relationship, and I strive to show up authentically for you in our counselling space. Together we will explore not only the challenges that may have brought you to counselling but also your unique identity and strengths. We will work to gain insight into yourself and build the life you want. From the foundation of a strong relationship, I tend to draw on cognitive-behavioural, dialectical-behavioural, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques to best meet the needs and goals of each client. I am always learning alongside my clients and also enjoy incorporating expressive arts and play into therapy.
Outside of my work, you’ll find me watching food shows and trying my best to replicate dishes in the kitchen, cuddling my cats and reading young adult fantasy or booking my next plane ticket!

Esther Perel, psychotherapist and author said, “The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.” She was not talking about only romantic relationships. When you’re struggling, it can be fruitful to take an intentional pause and focus on a very special relationship: the one you have with yourself. After all, how you relate to yourself usually mirrors in some way how you relate to others, and to life itself.
When there are areas of life that cause pain, confusion, or stuckness, therapy can be a safe space to examine the dynamics of your challenges. Life can sometimes be overwhelming. You do not have to navigate these difficult experiences alone.
So maybe you look successful, competent and put-together on the surface, but underneath the mask, you’re a hot mess. Maybe you’re trying to wrangle experiences of anxiety, stress, burnout, procrastination, perfectionism, self-criticism, poor boundaries, people-pleasing, or overthinking. Perhaps you’re haunted by past emotional pain or trauma, struggling to navigate grief and loss, or a life transition has thrown you off your game. You simply may be noticing you’re repeating patterns that aren’t working for you and are keeping you stuck.
I work with Millennial and Gen X adults (ages 28-59+). Depending on what we’re working on, what therapy looks like with me is “What are you noticing now?” and “What are you going to do about it?” I use an integrative approach, with my primary orientation being Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is designed to increase your psychological flexibility by helping you become more present, get clear on your values, drop the struggle with your unwanted internal happenings, and take action to create a life that aligns with what really matters to you. I also draw on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and person-centred, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioural, and mindfulness approaches.
I view every human being as an artist: at every moment, you are creating your life. If you seek to unhook from the patterns keeping you stuck, develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself, and learn new skills to increase your resilience and capacity to handle life’s inevitable ups and downs, I invite you to reach out.

Hi, my name is Stephen, and I’m a registered psychologist with a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle.
I think it’s important to recognize how difficult it is to reach out for help, and I’m so grateful that you’ve chosen to reach out to me. Going to therapy is tough, and that’s because being vulnerable is tough. I believe that we all have a tremendous ability to heal, change, and grow. We cruise through the day, not often giving much thought to the encounters we have, but in reality, there’s a brain behind the scenes working furiously to course-correct and catalog every moment of our lives. Sometimes, it’s important to pull the veil aside and take a moment to check and see how the narrative is unfolding. That’s why I believe that through awareness, acceptance, and exploration of ourselves through meaning making, we can all overcome the difficulties in our lives. Taking a moment to give our thoughts and feelings the attention they deserve, is crucial to the healthy functioning of the individual.
In the past my primary area of experience has been in sexual trauma, as counsellor working at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. However, today I see a variety of different individuals with unique and diverse needs. I treat PTSD and trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, stress and burnout, and many other life difficulties people may experience.’ Typically, I operate from evidence-based treatments and believe in the neurobiological understanding of psychology, utilizing empirically validated treatment methods to help my clients grow through their challenges.
I welcome adult clients of all backgrounds, non-binary individuals, and people of all gender identities, gender expression, and sexual orientation.’
